LAN is one of the largest airlines in South America, serving more than 76 destinations around the world through an extensive network within Latin America, and connections to North America, Europe and the South Pacific. To power its web-based customer service operations, LAN employs hundreds of physical servers within a firewalled data center, harnessing significant computing power to enable rapid service, seamless data management and efficient application development and delivery. Such a sophisticated infrastructure requires significant management and configuration, which was well beyond the time and resources of LAN's infrastructure team.
